Where I am

I am now based with my family in Madrid, Spain.

My jobs

I have two professional roles at two different companies in completely different industries.

1. My main activity, measured by committed hours per week, is my work as a Product Manager at Ailet. I lead the business stream where we build B2B SaaS for FMCG and pharmaceutical retailers. With our solution, they can benefit from digitized shelf data and tools that help their employees improve key shelf metrics—a kind of boost for merchandising work.

I wear multiple hats in this role:

  • Defining the product strategy
  • Product building: bringing our software to life through constant iteration with clients and my development team
  • Customer success: growing this stream alongside a few key clients who help us shape the solution
  • “Implementation hacker”: writing scripts from time to time to deliver value to customers quickly and test product hypotheses

2. My second role is as a Backend Engineer at Intrepid Fox, where we apply AI to transform how compliance teams at FinTech companies work. I was one of the company’s founding engineers and contributed to the codebase’s evolution from a rough proof of concept into a mature product. Although I am a part-time employee on a team of ten, I try to participate actively in architectural decisions and our software development processes. The latter is particularly interesting because of how software engineering roles are changing now.

I have worked in this mode—approximately six and a half days a week—for the last two and a half years. It is hard, and I am doing my best to end up with only one corporate role—if I have one at all.

Krashen

Apart from those two jobs, I am building Krashen, which I want to turn into a business. Krashen is a podcast player built for language learners. My mission is to make listening practice as smooth as possible.

Family

I try to spend all the free time left over from the above with my four-year-old daughter, and I find joy in it. I find staying at home the most boring option, although reading books to her is my favorite thing to do there. I especially enjoy the three of us traveling somewhere together. It happens rarely, but it is genuine quality time.

Information

I spend 30 to 60 minutes a day on Twitter (X) to stay informed. My feed is made up of indie hackers, engineers, AI lab leaders, tech interviewers, investors, and entrepreneurs.

I am currently listening to David Senra’s podcast—a good way to absorb the mental models of remarkable people.

Sport and fun

There is almost no sport in my life right now, but I do roller-skate through the streets of Madrid from time to time and am trying to establish a regular morning tennis routine with my wife. I hope to return to a rock-climbing gym someday.
